Bay Equity opened its doors in 2008, in the midst of the recession, as many other wholesale mortgage lenders were closing theirs. Three brothers; Brett, Jon and Casey McGovern, in partnership with Operations pro Ali Vafai, recognized the need for a new type of wholesale mortgage lender. Their new lender had to embrace the highest standards, provide exceptional customer service and be committed to lasting relationships with brokers. Bay Equity opened in San Francisco in April of 2008 and funded its first loan one month later. In its short history, Bay Equity has expanded and is now lending in ten western states and growing. It first achieved $100 million per month in loans funded, then a company milestone of $1 billion in loan production. It has expanded warehouse lines to accommodate continued growth. Bay Equity has hired accomplished mortgage and financial professionals at all levels and has proudly assembled a highly experienced staff of corporate executives, operations professionals and account executives. Bay Equity has quickly been recognized as a technology leader. As a "green" lender, Bay Equity has gone paperless through EDGE, its Equity Decision Generating Engine, an easy to use on-line system spanning the range from quick pre-qualification to full approval; and it's all paperless. Bay Equity Wholesale Lending is based in San Francisco and recently opened a second Wholesale Lending office in Phoenix. |

Ali Vafai is a Founder, and the Director of Risk at Bay Equity LLC. His 10 years of mortgage banking experience cover all facets of mortgage operations. He is responsible for key corporate functions including underwriting, compliance, risk management and technology. |

Shane O'DellDirector of Wholesale Production
Mr. O'Dell is a proven sales executive. Prior to joining Bay Equity, he was National Sales Manager for a wholesale mortgage lender which grew from a regional start-up to a nationwide lender with production exceeding $1 billion a year with nearly 500 Account Executives. |

John McDadeDirector of Government Lending
Mr. McDade is an expert in government lending with a combined 35 years mortgage banking experience. He served as chairman of the Finance Sub-committee for the National Association of Home Builders and has been very active in VA and FHA issues for decades. Prior to joining Bay Equity he was Vice President of Uniwest Mortgage Corporation. |

Melissa PappasDirector of Operations, Northern California
Ms. Pappas brings 20 years of mortgage banking experience to Bay Equity, including experience in retail, wholesale, and correspondent lending. A former senior manager at GE Money Bank, she has expertise in operations, investor relations, credit and underwriting, and business development. |

Chad SantanderDirector of Secondary Marketing
Mr. Santander has 17 years of Mortgage Banking experience. The focus of his career has centered around the Capital Markets through trading and pricing roles with Freddie Mac and Tuttle & Co., as well as conduit, correspondent; and wholesale sales with ABN AMRO, HSBC, and Paul Financial. |

Jane HarreDirector of Accounting and Finance
Ms. Harre brings to Bay Equity 13 years of Executive level Finance and Credit Risk expertise. A former Managing Director of Homecomings, a GMAC company, she has expertise in Wholesale Lending, including responsibility for all financial accounting, treasury, budgeting, reporting, financial modeling and quality control functions. |

Ms. O'Farrell has 20 years experience in financial services with an emphasis on human resource management and development. She previously served as Senior Vice President and Director of Human Resources for Bank of Marin. |

Jim CorbettChairman of the Board
Mr. Corbett is a respected and experienced entrepreneur and business leader. He founded the Sacramento Entrepreneurial Academy which prepares highly motivated students from University of California, Davis and Sacramento State to successfully create and manage new businesses. He was Chairman of the Dean's Advisory Council for the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. He served for a decade as Vice Chairman/Board Member of Sacramento Commercial Bank, a $200 million bank that was sold in 2000. He is currently Chairman and President of Spectrum Capital Corporation. |
